Certainly. Here is a GlobalGiving-style 500-word impact report focusing on the mental health programme conducted by IMUN, with emphasis on awareness, participation, and community impact.

Mental Health Awareness Programme Conducted by IMUN

Prime Educational and Social Trust, in collaboration with IMUN, conducted a meaningful Mental Health Awareness Programme aimed at helping children and young people understand the importance of mental well-being and emotional health. The programme created a safe and supportive environment where participants could learn, express themselves, ask questions, and develop a better understanding of the challenges that can affect their mental and emotional well-being.

Mental health is an important part of a young person's overall development. Children and adolescents may experience stress related to education, examinations, family circumstances, relationships, social expectations, and changes in their personal lives. However, many young people may hesitate to talk about their feelings because of fear, stigma, or a lack of awareness. Recognising this need, the programme focused on encouraging participants to speak openly about their emotions and to understand that seeking help is a sign of strength rather than weakness.

The IMUN team facilitated interactive sessions that introduced participants to basic concepts related to mental health and emotional well-being. Through discussions and participatory activities, the participants were encouraged to recognise emotions, understand the importance of communication, and identify healthy ways of responding to stress and difficult situations. The programme also highlighted the importance of having trusted people—including parents, teachers, social workers, and other responsible adults—with whom young people can share their concerns.

One of the important outcomes of the programme was the opportunity provided to participants to interact freely and reflect on their own experiences. Rather than treating mental health as a subject that should only be discussed when a serious problem arises, the programme promoted the idea that emotional well-being should be cared for regularly, just as physical health is cared for.

The programme also contributed to reducing misconceptions and stigma surrounding mental health. Participants were encouraged to show empathy towards others and to avoid judging people who may be experiencing emotional difficulties. Building such an understanding among young people can contribute to creating safer and more supportive schools, families, and communities.

Prime Trust believes that awareness and early support can play an important role in promoting the well-being of children and young people. Programmes such as this help create spaces where participants feel valued, listened to, and respected. The collaboration with IMUN also provided an opportunity to strengthen community-based awareness and encourage young people to become more conscious of their own well-being and the well-being of their peers.

The Mental Health Awareness Programme was therefore not only an awareness activity but also a step towards building a culture of openness, empathy, and mutual support. Prime Trust looks forward to continuing similar initiatives that empower children and young people with knowledge, confidence, and positive approaches to emotional well-being.
