Dear Friends,
Fighting TB is an important target, part of the Millennium Development Goals. Some of us even do not know about such a target and such a problem, while others are more informed especially if their countries experience high burden of TB and MDR-TB. Nurses are those, who are not only aware of this problem, but who are in the frontline in fighting TB and caring for TB patients and for the most vulnerable populations. Nurses are helping others being at high TB risk themselves. Our task is to help protect nurses, to decrease the risks for their health, life, for their families. With your support we are helping nurses in a very distant and one of the weakest TB district hospitals in Irkutsk region. On these pictures you can see nurses for the first time using the real respirators, not just gauze bandages. These respirators really help to protect nurses, and thus to support all worldwide effort in fighting TB. Thank you very much for caring for those nurses who cares for TB patients in Russia!
With warmest regards,
Valentina Sarkisova, RNA President
