Due to TB spread in 2009 the efficiency of treatment decreased from 82% till 23% at targeted Siberian hospital, mortality rates increased from 6,9% till 13,5%, the number of patients with drug-resistant TB increased up to 82%. As a result of low treatment efficiency and poor living conditions provided by the hospital, 21% of TB patients interrupted the treatment course at this hospital. The hospital has no possibilities to guarantee patient’s and staff safety.

Long-Term Impact

Reduction of mortality rates, improvement of treatment efficiency, improvement of care quality for 17000 outpatient and 380 hospital clients annually, protection of health care staff of TB hospital.
