Challenge

Shiyidaogou Rural School is situated in the remote southeast part of Jilin Province, China. There are currently 378 students and 74 teachers in Shiyidaogou Rural School. However, the number of books in their shabby library is only 2,150, among which half are books published before the year of 2000. Students and teachers are longing for new books to read.

Solution

Project Hope Mini Library is a project launched by China Youth Development Foundation, which aims at providing needy school with 1,000 plus selected books to help establish its mini library.

Long-Term Impact

Over 350 children will have books to read. These books will provide rural children with access to intelligent and modern resources, so as to broaden their vision and build their confidence. Also, students and teachers at Shiyidaogou Rural School will enjoy a good learning environment in their mini library.
