After 8 years renting the facility that serves as a safe space for over 300 hundred children every year, Root Foundation is raising the money to purchase the building to serve as the children center. If Root Foundation achieves this milestone, the organization will be able to own a building that is more children and youth friendly, more education friendly and be able to spend more money on personal development and scholarships for more vulnerable children.
Since January 2019, We were unfortunately forced to find a new location for the Root Foundation after four years of using a government facility. We have since been renting a building which still takes more than 30% of our budget. It is costly and does not give us the freedom to transform the space to meet all the key needs of the children who use the facility.
Root Foundation is raising the money to build/purchase the building that is at least as big as approx. 75m x 75m, located in Batsinda - the area where the biggest number of street children and other vulnerable families who need Root Foundation services most are found. Our aim is to use locally sourced, sustainable materials, to install solar cells, use of rainwater involve the people of Batsinda in the building/transformation work.
If Root Foundation achieves this milestone, the organization will be able to transform the building into a more children and youth friendly, more education friendly and be able to spend more money on personal development and scholarships for more vulnerable children.
