The clinic is in desperate need of repair in order to maintain the building structure and to protect the clinic, the volunteers, and the patients from severe weather, as well as to replace vital equipment that is need for daily clinic operations. Those most affected by this need are the Haitian people. Without the clinic repairs, the clinic cannot operate.
This project with ensure that the Haitian people will still have a place to come to receive medical care throughout the year. It is essential to the well-being of many of these patients that they continue to have a place to receive medical attention. Without the clinic repairs, the clinic will not be safe for medical volunteers and Haitian patients. The repairs will ensure that FOTCOH can continue to provide medicine, nutritional support, health care, water filters, and surgical and dental care.
The long term effect of the clinic repairs will be that the Haitian people can continue to visit the FOTCOH clinic for many years and know that they can rely on receiving free health care from the clinic on a regular basis. This creates a healthier Haitian community, which is is essential to the future of Haiti as a country.
