This project aims to renovate three girls' school toilets which will help 400 girls in Arusha to improve hygiene, dignity, and health for students. Many girls face challenges during menstruation because of poor sanitation facilities and lack of privacy at school. Unsafe toilets increase the spread of diseases such as diarrhea, urinary infections, and poor menstrual hygiene management. The project will provide clean, safe, and girl-friendly toilets to support education and protect girls' health.
The current toilets are old, damaged, and unsafe for girls to use during school hours. Many students miss classes during their menstrual periods because there is no privacy or clean water available. Poor sanitation contributes to diseases and infections that affect students' health and school attendance. Without proper facilities, girls lose confidence, dignity, and equal opportunities to continue their education.
The project will renovate three toilets with proper doors, roofing, water systems, and handwashing stations. Clean sanitation materials and menstrual hygiene support will be provided for girls at the school. Awareness sessions on hygiene, disease prevention, and menstrual health will also be organized. The renovated toilets will create a safe and healthy environment where girls can study comfortably. And will be great help to 400 girls students in Arusha region schools.
400 Girls will attend school regularly without fear or shame during their menstrual periods. Improved sanitation will reduce diseases and infections among students and teachers. The school environment will become safer, cleaner, and more supportive for girls' education. The project will strengthen confidence, dignity, and future opportunities for young girls in the community.
