This past week a three fingered sloth (Bradypus variegatus) arrived after being found on the ground. Our veterinarian checked it over and offered electrolytes as this young one was dehydrated.
After the initial night, it was doing much better and began drinking milk and eating cacao leaves and hibiscus flowers.
We are excited to be able to continue helping wildlife like this baby animal with your support!
In other exciting news, we have built a new enclosure for the white face capuchin monkeys and have started an expansion for the spider monkey enclosure as well. This will promote more natural movements and behaviors in the sanctuary.
In the coming weeks, construction will begin in our rehabilitation and pre-release for a flight aviary and better enclosures for those animals here for rehabilitation.
All of these change are to give the animals their best chance at life in the wild or provide a high quality life in our sanctuary. Thank you as always for your kind donations and support of our work!
