Remote Area Medical (RAM) and its volunteers have operated on the island of Haiti since 1995. In 2019, our last expeditions to Port-au-Prince and Hinche provided free medical and dental care with a value of $195,700 to 1,057 people. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and civil unrest in the area impacting travel, we were unable to hold clinics in Haiti in 2020 and 2021. At this time, the CDC recommends avoiding travel to Haiti due to the continued spread of COVID-19. RAM has every intention of returning to provide more free dental and medical care when the region is safe and when the travel barriers have subsided. Recognizing the great need, RAM will continue to alleviate pain and prevent suffering while looking forward to the day when operations can resume in Haiti. We greatly appreciate your continued support in this time of uncertainty and global crisis.
