Bread of Life International School Feeing Program helps to support the education, health, development and nutrition of school children from poverty-stricken communities, poor-households, and food-deficit deprived communities. Our vision is to ensure each student realize their right to food and nutrition, reach their full potential and shape sustainable and prosperous societies.
The aim of the project is to raise $45,000 to provide onsite meals to 150 vulnerable primary school children in Jirapa District located in Upper West Region of Ghana for the academic year. The goal is to encourage and boost school enrollment and attendance, increase the children in participation of school programs and improve literacy and learning, especially for the young girls and students from poor households.
The school feeding program will reduce the financial burden of education for the parents and that will them to send their children to school, rather than allowing them to stay home. The students with access to food and adequate nutrition are more productive, can focus more on their studies and improve on their academic performance. These have long-term positive effect such as decreasing in absenteeism and the drop-out among the students, increase in social and cognitive ability of the children, potential for development and educational attainment and ultimately create opportunities for the vulnerable children to gradually break the cycles of poverty and hunger.
Providing meals to the vulnerable children in schools will have an impact on the health and wellbeing. The meals will serve as a best fuel to encourage them to attend schools and with education, this will open the doors of opportunities for potential development and educational attainment. We believe that every child deserves a healthy, happy and hunger-free school year
Unfortunately, we were not able to raise the $45,000 on GlobalGiving. We raised only $100 and the funds will be used to provide meals to 10 vulnerable children. Thank you for the support
