The authors of the Gaza Monologues and ASHTAR's staff based in Gaza are in urgent need of our support. Following successful evacuations and the most recent attack on Rafah, we must act without delay. Thousands of readers globally have engaged with the Gaza Monologues texts and the authors need us more than ever! ASHTAR Theatre is launching this campaign to center our staff in Gaza and support them in their next steps depending on what's needed, possible and safe.

Challenge

Since October 8th 2023, 34,262+ Palestinians in Gaza have been killed by Israel as well as 382 in the West Bank (OCHA). More than ~77,229 reported injured. Some of the Gaza Monologues' authors are lucky to have survived until now tirelessly working with children offering them psycho-social release through drama. They, however, at any point in time can be killed. ASHTAR Theatre is lauching this campaign to support them in their preferred next steps seeking safety.

Solution

It costs $5,000 and up to 4 weeks to evacuate an adult out of Gaza and $2,500 for a child below the age of 16. Our Gaza Monologues authors need funds to either evacuate to Egypt and sustain themselves there or remain in Gaza being supported by us.
