Help Nepal

Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of our readers and supporters, the “Help for Nepal” fundraising campaign—launched in late August in response to the devastating floods that swept through the mountainous region bordering Tibet—has concluded with outstanding results. The Foundation raised and fully distributed more than 35,000 euros, channeling the funds into immediate relief efforts on the ground.

Torrential rains and mudslides have caused a devastating toll (which to date stands at over 1,300 dead, more than 2,300 injured, and 5,600 missing), leaving thousands of displaced people without food, drinking water, or shelter. Specchio dei tempi has returned to the front lines to renew its deep bond with the Nepalese people, whom it had already assisted following the 2015 earthquake.

To ensure transparency and maximum effectiveness, the funds raised were allocated to four key partners working on the ground:

Nepalese Red Cross: to support the Rasuwa area, where the school rebuilt by the Foundation in 2015 is located and which now serves as a logistics hub for relief efforts.
United Nations: operating through the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund, channeling all contributions through two designated government accounts to prevent financial irregularities and ensure a coordinated and systematic distribution of aid.
Rasuwa School: which is currently sheltering and feeding 73 people from 24 displaced households.
Doctors Without Borders: engaged in providing training in Psychological First Aid, carried out in collaboration with the Nepalese nonprofit network HAPSA and aimed at healthcare workers and volunteers, and through the donation of 5,000 KN95 masks to the Ministry of Health.

The Specchio dei tempi Foundation thanks all the donors who made this intervention possible and will continue to monitor the evolving emergency in Nepal, ready to return to the field whenever necessary.
