Hi!
As we continue our efforts to improve the lives of marginalized children and youth, we are happy to share news about our projects with you. On this occasion we want to tell you about our project that targets alcoholism and drug addiction prevention.
We worked in high schools in the State of Mexico to prevent the risk of addiction. The State of Mexico, specifically, has ongoing problems with drug addiction and we were eager to work with these teens in an effort to diminish these numbers.
We worked directly with young men and women by helping them become youth leaders. We carried out workshops, mentoring and educational fairs with students and their peers. Of course, we also worked with teachers and parents, to raise awareness and strengthen prevention efforts. As result of these activities we were able to train over 200 youth leaders, which in return replicated with 1,500 students.
Thanks to the effort and the commitment shown by both young women and men, we increased their knowledge about addiction prevention, improved their overall life skills and skills oriented towards addiction prevention, and also, increased their leadership skills.
These are just a few of our results and ongoing efforts to empower young women and men in marginalized communities.
We want to thank you again for your ongoing support, we couldn’t do this without you!
We will keep you posted with more news soon!
Cheers!
