Juega Más Program

Over the past months, the Juega Más program has successfully laid the foundation for a profound transformation within Mexico City's public schools. Our primary achievement has been activating a powerful movement across 26 schools, directly impacting the lives of 8,552 students and empowering 63 Physical Education teachers and 26 school principals. The program has moved beyond theory into tangible action, with 18 active School Movement Committees already formed and leading change.

A truly transformative finding has been the leadership of girls, who are present in 100% of the established committees, driving inclusive play and redefining participation in school sports. This early success highlights our program's core strength: building sustainable systems from within.

Impact in Action

Our strategy combines direct school support with community-wide activation. We currently work with 26 schools, with diagnostic assessments completed in all of them. The engagement numbers tell a story of growing momentum:

  • Student Leaders: 86 students (44 boys, 42 girls) have been identified as leaders in initial surveys and actively participate in Movement Committees.
  • Educator Engagement: 55 teachers and 14 principals participated in our foundational training, with ongoing reinforcement sessions held throughout the spring.
  • Ongoing Support: 45 teachers received personalized in-school visits and coaching during the first semester. A second round of visits is currently underway.

Festival Juega Más 2026

On April 25, we hosted the annual Juega Más Festival at the Escuela Superior de Educación Física (ESEF). The event brought together:

  • 380 children from participating schools, accompanied by their families
  • Volunteers who accompanied groups of 10 children throughout the circuit, ensuring no one was left behind
  • PE teachers (both program graduates and teachers in training) operating game stations and coordinating the obstacle course and race
  • Families engaged in an Active Waiting Area with parent-child games while children completed the circuit

The festival received positive feedback for its inclusive design (no lines, mixed-gender teams), high energy, and seamless organization. It was the festival with the fewest medical incidents in program history, confirming the importance of morning hours to avoid extreme heat.

The Road Ahead (June – July 2026)

We enter the final phase of the school year with clear, actionable goals:

  1. Consolidate Movement Committees: Ensure all 18 active committees document their achievements and complete a Continuity Plan for the next school year.
  2. School Festivals: During June, schools will host their own "Festival en tu Escuela" events, bringing the festival experience to their local communities with materials and support from Juega Más.
  3. Final Evaluation: Conduct end-of-year surveys with students, teachers, and principals to measure changes in perceived inclusion, enjoyment, and physical activity levels.
  4. Recognition and Closure: Award certificates and material prizes to schools that reached their star goals and prepare the graduation.

A Movement in Bloom

These last months have been about planting seeds and nurturing them with consistency. We have seen the first blossoms of change emerge in schoolyards across Mexico City: girls leading games, parents joining play, teachers innovating with recycled materials, and volunteers discovering their own capacity to inspire.

The journey toward active, inclusive, and joyful schools is well underway. With continued support, its impact will keep growing—one child, one school, one community at a time.

Thank you for being part of this movement.
