Healthcare workers in Nigeria rarely have opportunities to learn about artificial intelligence (AI), yet AI is becoming central to diagnostics, drug research, patient monitoring, and hospital operations worldwide. Without exposure, medical personnel risk missing new career directions where AI plays an increasing role.
99.9% of Nigerian medical personnel are not exposed to artificial intelligence (AI) during their training or professional practice. As AI becomes more common in diagnostics, patient care, research, and hospital management, this knowledge gap leaves many healthcare workers unprepared for emerging roles and technologies. Without access to AI education, they risk missing opportunities to improve healthcare delivery and career growth.
This project will organize a physical training program in cities across Nigeria, including Abuja, Lagos, Kano, Enugu, and Port Harcourt, where participants will be introduced to real-life applications of AI in areas such as diagnostic imaging, hospital workflow systems, and drug development. Printed learning materials and direct mentorship will help participants continue learning and applying this knowledge after the program.
This project will expose medical personnel to practical uses of AI in healthcare and help them explore new career opportunities in areas such as health informatics, digital health, research, and healthcare technology. Participants will gain knowledge they can apply responsibly in their work, helping them adapt to changes in modern healthcare. Beneficiaries include doctors, nurses, pharmacists, laboratory scientists, and health administrators across Nigeria.
