Last summer, during the Aid for Kids Motherland Tour, Dawn Degenhardt met this handsome young boy in Soc Trang. Dawn has been all over the world - just about literally - and had never seen a case of goiter (an abnormal enlargement of the thyroid gland) like this. She learned that his family could not afford to get his goiter fixed. Her immediate reaction was "we've got to get this fixed."
So far, we've raised $600 that allowed us to do the necessary preparatory medical testing. We NOW need to raise the money for the actual surgery. We've found a doctor and negotiated a steeply discounted rate with the hospital. To perform the surgery, we need to raise $2500.
