As someone who has supported NYF’s critical work saving severely malnourished children, you may be concerned about the devastating situation in Nepal where massive flooding and landslides have displaced thousands of families. The number of deaths and causalities are mounting, as rescue efforts continue.
Southern Nepal, the hardest hit region, is the site of eleven of our Nutritional Rehabilitation Homes (NRHs) -- providing life-saving services to desperately malnourished children.
Thousands of people have fallen sick due to polluted water. Many haven’t eaten anything in three days. We anticipate that rescue and relief workers will soon be referring children to the NRHs, and we stand ready to help. Their health and lives depend on it.
