Lembongan is going strong :)

Teachers at SDN 3 learning about plastic pollution
Teachers at SDN 3 learning about plastic pollution

We've great news from our school that was struggling. They signed an MOU On March 28th, 2019 to continue to run the program at school. This was an exciting day where the team were able to come together from Australia and Bali. In May, the school took part in a teacher workshop and we were really happy with the attendance. A total of 11 staff, teachers and school committee members attended to learn about the impacts of plastic pollution on our oceans and what they can do to help. We also collaborated with Marine Megafauna Foundation who shared their expertise on the local Manta Ray population and the impacts plastic is having on them.

SDN 2 Lembongan just completed lessons 7 and 8 and we donated 17 bottles to graduation students from year 6. The students also created Symbols of Friendship which are messages they share with Australian students. Dara – our Lembongan School Support Staff led the process. Dara explained what the SOF are and why we create them. She led the process in fun way so the kids paid attention, were excited and enjoyed the writing process.
