Every trip is more than a medical check-up for us – it’s a time of hope and anticipation.
This time, Switzerland welcomed the family with unusually warm weather, and the trip, while not without its challenges, brought the best news. We share a letter from Adomelis's mother Gabija:
"Switzerland welcomed us this time with especially warm weather, the sun's rays pleasantly caressed our faces. The beauty of the mountains, as always, is amazing in its grandeur, forcing us to stop at least for a moment and simply enjoy it.
Before the trip, we already had good news - Adomelis was accepted into kindergarten. And not just any kindergarten. At the Klaipeda Vision Development Center, his eyes will be given special attention, various exercises, sensory activities and constant care await him.
Adomelis was looking forward to this trip with great impatience. As soon as I told him that we would soon travel to Switzerland to have his eyes checked, he immediately beamed with joy. Every day he would run up, flying the plane and say: "Mom, apa tšiuuu, tutu." And when I said that it would be soon, soon, he would answer with a joyful "yay, mom!". It's good that at least someone on this journey sheds such light on him.
On the last day before the trip, the child fell ill. We already thought that the check-up would not take place and that Adomelis would endure the tiring trip without a goal, but the anesthesiologist, after examining his condition, said that everything was fine and the check-up would take place. Although Adomelis had a temperature, he was quite cheerful, only a little irritable. He recovered quickly and smoothly after the anesthesia.
The news is encouraging. Everything is stable, the tumors have been inactive for six months. It is difficult to convey in words what it means to hear this, our strong man is doing so well. The doctor was very pleased with the results we achieved.
On the train back to Geneva airport, with just ten minutes to go, the train stopped. The road was closed due to an unforeseen situation. We waited for an hour before it was finally decided to send us back one stop. We found ourselves in a town where there are no buses and only one Uber. After an hour, we managed to call someone who took us to the airport. We are glad that we made it on time.
We thank everyone who is by our side and supports us on this path. Your support allows us to move forward."
Hearing the good news, we also smile broadly, and we wish Adomelis the most fun days in his new kindergarten and the most beautiful summer moments!
