Every day, a bakery supplying 28 supermarkets in the Dominican Republic faced a demanding task. Its team copied a 37-page sales report into Excel by hand while four drivers sent inventory updates through WhatsApp. Keeping the information organized was part of the work required to keep the business running.
The Trust for the Americas, through Trust AI Solutions, worked with the bakery to build tools for those daily needs. The team now uses an automated reader for supermarket reports and a WhatsApp assistant that helps drivers report inventory. A dashboard brings the information together, helping the business keep track of its operations.
“AI is here, and the time is now. I’d recommend it without a shadow of a doubt,” the bakery’s owner told Banco BHD during an October follow-up interview. We are using this experience to guide the next phase and help more small businesses adopt tools that meet their needs.
