Studying for Preparatoria
Studying for Preparatoria

Hello

One of the many things we offer at Ojala-Ninos LCPI is helping prepare for and faciltating courses to kids that have not received their Preparatoria Certification, or High School diploma. We do this in accordance with UVEG (virtual University State of Guanajuato).

A key problem in Mexican Education is insufficient enrollment and high drop out rates beyond the primary level. The Primary Level!  We see this every day in our rural community. Reasons for student dropouts include limited financial resources, lack of information about the future returns to education, and limited relevance of academic content for the job market.

We have enabled kids to receive diplomas in Elementary, Middle school and now High School. Our regular tutoring classes for 1st through 6th graders has proven to help the children in their formal schooling. This encourages them to continue striving. Our groups are smaller with individual attention. Often in rural communities one teacher, teaches two grades in one classroom. Our programs offer that extra help and encouragement.

We also have computer, English and art classes. Sports such as soccer and boxing. We have a sewing class. We have a Social Worker on Staff and many programs to benefit the overall well-being of the community and so much more. We will host our Annual summer camp again this August. All this is possible with your continued support, we are grateful and will continue working hard.

Sincerely

Betty Lopez
