LCM’s St. Joseph Vocation School will be opening sometime over the next few months. The first program being offered will be a solar academy. We have partnered with SonLight Power, a Christian Organization, in Ohio for this program.
Our mission school is in terrific shape! Our test scores on the national exams rival those of the best schools in Haiti. Our teachers are engaging, knowledgeable, and professional. With each visit the kids seem to be speaking more English and behaving more maturely.
Almost all schools in Haiti are privately run - familes have to the tuition fees, buy books, and uniforms to send their kids to school. The average Haitian only earns $1 to $2 US per day. Imagine taking care of your family with so little. Many families are left with the uncomfortable choice of picking which of their children go to school and which ones do not.
Based on what we see in the Montrouis community, an average of about 75% of the kids go to school. Less attend or complete High School.
Think about how you can make a difference in a students life. Together Life Connection Mission has been able to help thousands of students. LCM operates a school from preschool through High School, a college preperation program, and will soon be opening up a vocational school.
Consider being a part of this effort. Thanks and God Bless
