EmpowerHER Flow, a program of No Limit International, works to keep girls in Cameroon in school by addressing period poverty and menstrual stigma. Through menstrual health workshops and dignity kit distributions, the program provides girls with essential hygiene supplies, accurate health education, and a safe space to learn about their bodies. With over 700 girls already reached, EmpowerHER Flow empowers students to pursue their education with confidence and dignity.
In Sub-Saharan Africa, menstrual stigma, limited access to hygiene products, and insufficient reproductive health education hinder many girls from attending school consistently. Research suggests that as many as one-third of girls miss school during menstruation, negatively impacting their academic achievement and future educational success. Many any girls experience shame and misinformation about their bodies, and several schools lack the resources to deliver proper menstrual health education
EmpowerHER Flow tackles period poverty and menstrual stigma by providing girls in Cameroon with menstrual health education and hygiene supplies. Through interactive workshops in schools and communities, girls learn about reproductive health, gender equality, and menstrual wellness while receiving dignity kits to support their education. By engaging students, teachers, parents, and community leaders, EmpowerHER Flow creates lasting change. Over 700 girl have already participated in our workshops.
By improving access to menstrual health education and hygiene supplies, EmpowerHER Flow helps girls attend school consistently and participate actively in learning. The program also promotes awareness of menstrual health as a human rights issue and a matter of gender equality. As stigma reduces and understanding increases, communities become more supportive of girls' education and overall well-being.
