Girls around the world are marginalized and subject to abuse and violence, but are given the smallest collective voice to stand up against their situation. Global Sorority delivers essential self development and leadership education to a global community of young women. We focus on the internal strengths and tools needed for girls to live to their full potential. We provide them with education, resources, community support and a platform from where they feel heard and valued.
Girls are not only suffering in far away places. They are struggling right here in North America. Cutting, eating disorders, substance abuse and other forms of self-harm are prevalent in most western cultures. Young women here are also subject to gender discrimination, violence, sexual assault, and are often objectified in the media. Girls around the world face different external pressures and discrimination but internally they need the same set of tools to overcome their circumstances & succeed
Global Sorority already works across the globe to bring leadership training to girls. A huge part of our mission is to incorporate the true meaning of global and sisterhood. We want to create and establish a strong platform from the US where girls here can benefit just as much and become valuable contributors. With more girls in the US becoming strong globally connected leaders, we hope to strengthen our outreach and support of girls in the developing world through building an online platform.
The long-term impact of Global Sorority's work is greater awareness of gender based solutions, more girls in school, more women leaders in positions that will positively effect economies, global health, safety and the environment. Before women can have a voice and become the leaders of tomorrow we need to start empowering girls with the tools they'll need to reach their potential today. We will continue to support girls to create their own self-defined success and create safe strong communities.
