Do Your Part, along with the survivors would like to thank you for your continued support.  In the month of February, one of our Do Your Part volunteers was able to meet with Pastor David Johnson of the Churches of Christ Disaster Response Team.  We were able to talk about the needs in the Columbia, and Charleston areas.  Do Your Part was able to bring 140 stuffed animals, along with many gift cards that will be used for supplies.  They were truly grateful!  There is still so much work that needs to be done in these areas.  Do Your Part will continue fundraising so that we can help with any needs that might arise.  As I drove through some of these areas, this great state has worked very hard to bring everything back to it's beauty, however many businesses were completely destroyed, and others continue to have major clean up indoors.  There was a location in Charleston called tent city where over 115 people were displaced, and living in these tents.  They were given 60 days to leave the property, and all tents have been completely cleared out as of Friday, April 8th.  Many of these people are staying in transitional housing, but there is still so much work to be done in order to get them back on their feet.  I have attached a couple of pictures from my recent visit.  One of them is a picture of tent city before it was taken down, and another picture is one of the areas in Columbia that I visited which is working to bring back the beauty of their business.
