In order to help the millions of people who have been displaced due to armed conflict, persecution, or other dangers, the member organizations of Aktion Deutschland Hilft are implementing numerous projects for refugees worldwide. These projects cover areas such as the provision of emergency shelters, psycho-social support for traumatized children, distribution of food and hygiene articles, assistance for unaccompanied refugee minors, and medical care.
Millions of people are displaced, fleeing from armed conflict, persecution or other threats, and looking for a better, safer future in other countries. These people need help in their countries of origin (such as Syria, Afghanistan, South Sudan and Pakistan), in transit countries (such as Turkey, Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey, Greece and the Balkans), as well as in Germany.
In the countries of origin and transit countries, our member organizations provide medical care, hospital supplies, psychosocial support and food. In Germany, they run refugee centers in numerous locations, look after unaccompanied refugee minors, assist refugees in finding housing and jobs, offer language courses and general support for refugees.
As a non-governmental and impartial organisation, we are not able to change conflicts, wars or nature catastrophes, which lead to people fleeing their homecountries. But we are able to support the affected people in their origin and transit countries and in their new homes. Furthermore, we believe that migration can have a positive effect on a countries society and economy. Therefore we stand side by side with the refugees worldwide.
