Hot meal on a cold morning
Last August 18, 2013, Cavite was strucked by heavy rains with high tide caused flash floods in several areas of Cavite. The flood reached 8 feet in some areas as early as 9 in the morning. This was called as the “Enhanced Monsoon.”
The CJFI Cavite Residential Center in Imus was one of the areas that were affected by the flood. The children in the center were evacuated by the center head of the shelter into a much safer place to stay until the rains cease. Almost all of the appliance and things in the shelter were ruined because of the flood, including things of the children that they weren’t able to bring.
The central office of CJFI responded immediately to the needs one of its shelter. Some staffs and volunteers coming from Quezon City and Pampanga brought with them food and clothing for the children. While in the central office of CJFI, they continue on packing goods to be brought and be given to other victims of the flood.
Because of your generosity, we were able to give help not only to the children but also to other victims clothing, medicines and we were able to serve them meal. Thank you very much!
We hope that you would continue to extend your help to the people, mostly the children for whatever they need.
Thank you very much for your support and God bless everyone!
