Dear Donors,
Greetings from FSI Nepal!
Food Security Initiative (FSI) Nepal is grateful to all its donors for their kind contribution. The relief distribution program for flood affected children has only been possible because of your generous support through trustworthy organization GlobalGiving. Thank you so much and look forward in the future.
FSI Nepal has been successfully working for the welfare and development of marginalized community. The organization mainly deals with the food and nutrition security, education, environment, livelihood, agriculture. In August 2017, people of Terai belt especially southern Nepal was highly affected by devastating flood. Thousands of marginalized communities mostly, women (pregnant and lactating mothers) and children had to live difficult life with less nutritious food, water and protection issues. The displaced people are currently staying in temporary shelters, public buildings and relatives home. The issue of chronic and sever illnesses, malnutrition is rising in the communities. We help to improve the lives of those affected people caught up in natural disasters with clean water, food, sanitation and warm clothes. The support received from local communities, government bodies, community leaders and of course volunteers is highly appreciative. FSI Nepal distributed water bottle, basket of nutritious food, hygiene kits and warm clothes to 185 children in Itahari, Sunsari. Our nutrition and food security officer facilitated the children concerning health, hygiene, sanitation, healthy and nutritious food for maintaining proper food consuming and hygiene behavior.
The situation in the severely affected communities is even worse due to decreasing temperature as winter is approaching. Displaced and homeless people are option less and waiting for generous people and organization to get support (blanket, fire log, food grains and warm clothes to kids). Thus, quick recovery program is felt need in the flood affected area. We always welcome your valuable support. Enormous thanks from the core of our heart for being significant part of our relief program.
