By Dag Blokkum | Executive Director Conviventia
Many of us have heard about the worsening situation in India due to new COVID strains. Similarly, the situation in Colombia is worsening as well. COVID numbers growing exponentially, social unrest, protests, and increased violence has shut down the economy even harder than before. Poverty rate has now grown to cover half the population of Colombia. Meaning half the population don’t know when they are going to be able to eat today or not.
Conviventia is an island of hope and love in a desperate situation. Your generosity has enabled us to provide food, education, and income generation to almost eleven thousand people over the last year. One dollar a day feeds a family of 4 in Colombia, two dollars a day provides education and food, and gives a sense of normality in a broken world.
Keep praying for peace to the people, wisdom to the leaders, and for foreign actors to stop agitating violence in a very fragile system.
Thanks, and many blessings to our faithful friends and donors.
