Giving Horses a Voice From State Houses to the Triple Crown

Because of your support, Horseracing Wrongs continued to expose the realities of horseracing while growing a movement of people speaking up for horses and demanding change.

This spring, we participated in Animal Advocacy Day at the New York State Capitol, meeting with legislators and urging policymakers to reconsider the billions in taxpayer subsidies that keep the horseracing industry afloat.

We also expanded our legislative work in Pennsylvania, where we continue to challenge the massive taxpayer-funded subsidies propping up the racing industry. Supporters helped amplify our message to lawmakers and the public, bringing greater scrutiny to this corporate welfare system.

During the Triple Crown season, Horseracing Wrongs launched a nationwide awareness campaign that included media interviews, public outreach, and protests at all three Triple Crown races: the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes, and Belmont Stakes. Our message reached thousands through news coverage, social media, and grassroots activism.

Tragically, while the racing industry celebrated the Triple Crown season, Hit Zero, a three-year-old horse, collapsed and died on Black-Eyed Susan Day, the day before the Preakness. His death served as a stark reminder of why we do this work: horses should not be exploited, injured, and killed for gambling and entertainment.

At the same time, our online community continued to grow. More people than ever engaged with our content, shared our investigations, contacted public officials, participated in advocacy actions, and used their voices to call for an end to horseracing. Every new supporter helps expand awareness and increase pressure for change.

Thank you for standing with us. Your support makes it possible to expose the truth, challenge the industry at every level, and be a voice for the horses.
