Children Continue Learning Despite Challenges

By WAIRA SAMUEL JOEL | DIRECTOR

Dear Supporters,

We are grateful for your continued support of our project, "Help Educate and Care for Vulnerable Children." Because of your generosity, vulnerable children under the care of Eastlander Childcare Organization Uganda (ECCOU) continue to access education, nutritious meals, healthcare, clean water, and emotional support.

During this reporting period, we have been able to keep many vulnerable children in school by helping with school fees, scholastic materials, and other educational needs. Many children who were at risk of dropping out have remained in class and are making positive progress in their studies.

We have also provided medical assistance to children who required treatment and ensured that many receive nutritious meals to support their health and development. These interventions have helped improve the well-being and hope of the children and their families.

Community engagement activities have continued to strengthen child protection and encourage families to prioritize education. We have seen encouraging progress as children gain confidence and remain focused on their future.

Despite these achievements, significant challenges remain. Rising school fees, food costs, and medical expenses continue to place pressure on our limited resources. Some children are still missing school due to a lack of fees, uniforms, and scholastic materials, while others continue to struggle with access to adequate food and healthcare. Many vulnerable children are still waiting for support to meet their essential needs.

Looking ahead, ECCOU remains committed to creating a safe and nurturing environment where every child can thrive. We are working toward expanding our support services and establishing a permanent children's center that will provide long-term stability, protection, and care for vulnerable children.

On behalf of the children, families, and communities we serve, thank you for making a meaningful difference in their lives. Your support is helping to create brighter futures, restore hope, and give vulnerable children the opportunity to reach their full potential.

With gratitude,

Waira Samuel Joel
Director
