Help Educate 150 Orphans in Kole, Uganda

Greetings from New Mercy Nursery School.

New Mercy Uganda is a grass root community based initiative driven with  an idea of giving a common ground for children irrespective of the economic background. 

New Mercy Uganda is advancing education to the OVC through New Mercy Nursery and Primary school. A total of 150 OVC are attending pre-Primary and primary education have been enrolled.

Achievements registered This Quarter.

1. Acquisition of two acres land for the construction of OVCs Classroom.

We are extremely glad to report that a tw acres land has been bought. We are very indebted by your unwavering support in championing Education to the underprivileged Orphans in Northern Uganda whom for many years their rights to education were deprived.

2. School Uniforms, Books, Pens

One of the essential factors that promote school dropout and poor performance by creating fears and self denial is lack of basics schoolastics materials. We envision uniformity at school. To this effect, we continue to provide OVCs with school uniforms, books, pens, rubbers, colours pencils, crayons, rulers, Mathematics set to ease their learnings activities.

Challenges Encountered 

1. Desks remain adequate and should be added

2. Foods item for the children posed a big challenge.

3. Books, pens, school uniforms, and other playing material for the children.

4.Construction of class room block.

Recommendation.

1. At least Some 50 desks to be procured.

2. Request donors to help OVCs with the construction of classroom blocks 

3. Children to be provided with school uniform books, pens, playing balls to booster their cognitive learning and development.
