With your support, the illegal and barbaric smuggling of dogs from Thailand to bordering countries to be sold as dog meat, has been significantly reduced.
The fight is not over however, and Soi Dog continues to work closely with their undercover agents as well and Thai police, to catch and punish anyone who disregards the laws and is either slaughtering or smuggling dogs. Soi Dog also works closely with these authorities to ensure persons inflicting any type of cruelty are charged.
Soi Dog recently hosted Nami Kim who is working on rescuing and ending the dog meat trade in Korea. Soi Dog held discussion with Nami Kim and while not in a position to be able to expand operations into this region, Soi Dog is able to advise Nami Kim on her operations and has been able to offer support with her fundraising efforts.
Adoptions of dogs rescued from this horrendous trade continue to go strongly, with the number of rescue organisations in the US and Canada continually increasing, meaning more dogs are being sent from the dog meat trade rescue shelter to rescue groups in the US, who then find loving homes for these dogs. In June 2016, the adoptions manager in charge of the adoptions of these dogs, once again returned to the US to meet with potential rescue partners, as well as accompanying 5 more dogs to their new lives.
Soi Dog Foundation can only help these dogs because of your support. Soi Dog does not receive any government funding and relies on generous people like you to ensure these dogs are saved given the chance they deserve. Thank you for caring about the and for your support.
