By Daniel Marungu | C.E.O TIBA AFRICA FOUNDATION
Whenever I wake up in the morning, I consciously look around for reasons to inspire my day.
Joy is one of men and women that inspires my day. She has actually become an example of the dream held high by TIBA AFRICA FOUNDATION for people Living with HIV+AIDs in slums of Kabiria.
HIV+AIDs have really killed lots of dreams. Reading testimonies like the one bellow, keeps me inspired:
"Like many young girls, I have a big dream to fulfill and after ups and downs of life, my dream is coming to reality. Mtoto wa Africa Palace (MAP) was officially opened in November. I am working at the moment on enrolling the likeminded, friends, relatives, government officials, police, landlords /ladies, business owners from my community; Uthiru 87 so we can work together on my dream. I aim to make a lasting impact in the whole community. My main focus is to make practical difference in the lives of kids, women, men &youths that are affected /infected with Hiv . My passion for these special &wonderful people was birthed last year January 2012 when I went for my 1st antenatal clinic & my Hiv test came out positive. It has been an amazing journey, All glory to God for bringing TIBA AFRICA FOUNDATION into my life.My baby Shawn is Hiv negative &so is his Dad. Through TIBA,I have learnt so much about HIV & seen what stigma, ignorance, fear , weak mind & lack of support does to these precious people who if not helped they can’t fulfill their dreams, I included too,” Said Joy.
Joy went through our empowerment program . She aims at helping others that are going through a challenge she personally overcame. Many thanks for your donations. We hope to have more people like joy who can go further in empowering others. Congratulations Joy.
