We sincerely appreciate your generous contributions toward empowering underprivileged women and adolescent girls by supporting their training in fashion designing through the esteemed GlobalGiving Foundation. Your support is playing a crucial role in transforming lives by providing sustainable livelihood opportunities to those in need.
Since 2008, we have been actively identifying destitute women and adolescent girls from remote rural areas, urban slums, and marginalized communities, offering them essential skill development training in tailoring, embroidery, maggam work, and zari work. These women, aged between 16 and 35 years, often lack access to vocational training and financial stability. Through our regular outreach programs, we collaborate with community elders and Podupu Lakshmi Group Leaders to identify those who are in dire need of skill-based training and economic empowerment.
In Prajanagar, Thandrapadu Post, Kurnool Mandal & District, many women and young girls remain unemployed, lacking vocational skills to support their families. After receiving multiple requests from these communities, we launched a six-month vocational training program in fashion designing, led by experienced trainers and industry experts. This program equips participants with hands-on skills in tailoring, stitching blouses, innerwear, school uniforms, and saree finishing, enabling them to take up customer orders and generate an income. Many women who have undergone this training are now earning an average of 4,000 per month, which serves as a supplementary income for their families. This additional financial support helps in providing better education, nutrition, and healthcare for their children, ensuring their regular schooling and overall well-being.
