Bilingual Educational Calendar in Argentine Sign Language (LSA)

What do we do?

Since 2022, Canales has produced and distributed a free monthly Calendar of Commemorative Dates, now reaching more than 1,370 subscribers—including teachers, professionals, families, interpreters, and educational institutions across Argentina.
This material impacts thousands of deaf and hearing students by offering accessible visual resources and ready-to-use activities.

Each edition includes:

  • National commemorative dates and current themes (culture, health, environment, science, and education).
  • Dates and milestones related to the Deaf community, from a bilingual perspective (LSA–Spanish).
  • Activities for all educational levels.
  • Videos in Argentine Sign Language, both original and from authorized sources.
  • Visual illustrations and proposals that teaching teams can easily integrate into their lesson plans.

In 2025, we are adding 3 exclusive new content sections specially created for the calendar: Family, School, and Community.

Why is it important?

The Calendar is unique in the country: it combines general information with Deaf-community-specific content, allowing the entire educational community to access high-quality learning materials that:

  • Support teachers with monthly proposals aligned with the school agenda.
  • Ensure that deaf children and young people receive information in their natural language (LSA), strengthening bilingual learning.
  • Inspire institutional projects, open conversations with families, and connect schools across provinces.
  • Democratize access to educational resources by being completely free and barrier-free.
  • Highlight educational productions and Deaf creators from across the country by giving them visibility on our platform.

An innovative project that keeps growing

The Calendar brings historically excluded populations closer to key topics such as environment, science, health, art, diversity, rights, and citizenship—through a bilingual, visual format that allows deaf students to fully participate in school life.

In the past year, it has been enriched with videos and proposals submitted by schools across the country, strengthening a collaborative educational network.

Impact in numbers

Only in 2025, the Bilingual Educational Calendar in LSA achieved:

  • 120 pages of accessible pedagogical content

  • 150 classroom-ready resources for lessons and projects

  • 37 original Argentine Sign Language videos created exclusively for the calendar

  • 25 collaborative contributions from schools and Deaf leaders across the country

  • 5 downloadable bonus materials for the educational community and families

  • New employment opportunities for Deaf professionals in video production and illustration

These numbers represent expanded and improved learning opportunities for thousands of deaf and hearing students—and a free resource that has become essential for more than 1,370 educators and families.

Why do we need your support?

To sustain a free, up-to-date, high-quality resource that has already become indispensable in hundreds of classrooms.

Join us in making inclusive education possible. Your contribution keeps this free resource alive and reaching thousands of students every month.

Let's make the 2026 Calendar happen!
