How is NEEV CIL School going to transform the world

NEEV CIL School, the latest endeavour of NEEV is going to be a totally unique school which shall be based not only on training children to get a livelihood but to develop the complete human being. A complete human being is one who is not only equipped with technical capacities to get a livelihood in the modern world but also a person who has got the intelligence to face the complexity of life without creating conflict.

Humans have lived in conflcit for millenia. They have created divisions based on religions, tribes, nationalities, economics and politics. The result of this has been an unbroken series of wars, ethnic conflicts, terrorism, inequality and environmental degradation. The problems created by the divisive mind of man has now resulted in global problems that cannot be solved at the level of technology or systems or ideas.

The only way these problems can be solved is by a transformation in man's consciousness. Till man think himself to be an individual in conflict with another for money, power, name and pleasures, there is no end of conflict. The very structure of self of human consciousness is the cause of conflict. So the greatest responsibility of a place of true education is to help children understand conflict and the root of all conflict. Only an educator has himself/herself gone into the fundamental questions of life, who is not a mere technician or a specialist in a field of knowledge, can help awaken an intelligence in children, to question the cause of all conflict in society.

Unfortunately all schools are centres for conditioning children to fit into society - a society that is based on division and conflict. Education teaches children to compete, to be ambitious and to think of self interest as the sole aim of life. Such a kind of education can only perpetuate conflict and imperil the planet's future.

At NEEV CIL School, we are creating a kind of school where children would be helped to question society rather than become blind automatons of this vast industrial-consumeristic machine of society. Only such children can create a world based on Freedom, Love and Beauty. The children of the school shall blossom in a culture of freedom and inquiry rather than authority and coercion and thus would be original and creative. Because of having grown in an atmosphere of love and freedom, these children would step away from competition, ambition and pursuit of power. They would not belong to any caste, country, nation or political groups because they would have clearly seen the dnager of creating divisions in mankind. A child educated at NEEV school would not only receive good quality academic training but also be helped in awakening his/her total intelligence for transformation of consciousness.

Why does NEEV CIL School require your support?

As one can clearly see, NEEV CIL School is not going to be an automatic choice for parents who would perhaps like their children to be competitive, ambitious and succeed in society rather than move away from the current society and create a new world. 

Most parents who have the means would like to send their children to schools which have a status quo. What matters for them is the infrastrcuture, the class of people who come to school and degree doled out by the school. So by default the parents who would come to NEEV CIL School are the ones who have not got the means to educate their children in upmarket schools. For us at NEEV, this does not constitute a problem at the social. psychological or cultural level because we clearly understand that all humans are alike. While external facets are different, psychologically all humans whether rich or poor, powerful or meek, are assailed by emotions of fear, insecurity, hurt and anger. We have no sense of discrimination for children psychologically. For us every child has the potential for transformation of consciousness. In our school, both the rich and the poor are equally welcome.

The problem that we face is rather financial. Poor people cannot pay for their child's education. And why should anyone be denied education on the basis of money?

Since we cannot hope of getting money from the poor and since the aim of NEEV CIL school is so vital for mankind, we rely on the support we receive from like minded individuals who see the tremendous significance of our work. As a working philosophy we do not solicit any funds from institutions because we feel that institutions do not have the heart and the vision to understand what we are doing.Relationships between organizations lack the soul. All dealings are mired in considerations of money and selling power. They are bound, tied and moulded through paperwork, useless procedures and documentation, so much so, that almost all NGOs set up separate departments to handle paperwork. The interactions between individuals who are friends, who know each other and who are inspired or motivated by a common reason are of a deeper, more lasting, profound and of a more transformative nature. All people who become part of NEEV are not “donor agencies” but friends, comrades, fellow travellers, inspired supporters or kindred souls fired by a mission. 

What have we been able to do so far from your support?

a.) Buying land and beginnig construction of NEEV School :- For the last ten years we have been running NEEV Public School (renamed NEEV Vidyalaya) on rented premises. On the basis of the work we have been able to do in NEEV Public School we have developed a group of friends who have begun to appreciate and support our work. On the basis of their support over the last decade we have been able to purchase 5000 sq ft of land in Hurlung Village, Jamshedpur, India. We have also started construction of NEEV CIL School - a double storey building - with a constructed area of 5000 sq ft.

b.) Formation of NEEV Community for Integral Living :- And even more significant is the fact that we have also created a dedicated team of five teachers who have devoted their lives to runninng NEEV CIL School. These teachers are not going to be salaried professional but fellow inquireres who have grown up studying in NEEV Vidyalaya and who have understood the enormous importance of what we are attempting through NEEV CIL. The fooding, clothing and lodging of these five teachers are going to be taken care by NEEV Trust.

To be economically and environmentally sustainable NEEV CIL members would also engage in farming, growing vegetables and dong handicrafts. The NEEV CIl members have already started on these endeavours in a small way. Each weekend the NEEV CIL members have a weekend camp in Hurlung Village where they have dialogues, take walks amidst the village farms and cook their own food. Some of the members have also started painting tribal art and we are beginnig to market their paintings. The sale of these paintings would help us in being economically sustainable.

What support we need from you

We need finacial support from you in the following areas

1.) Money for completing the construction of school

2.) Sponsoring Rural Kids' studies in our school

3.) Money for infrastructural requirements of school like fans, furniture etc.

4.) Money for buying farming land for school that would make our CIL Community self sustainable
