Education around the world has become associated with mere cultivation of intellect. The one-sided cultivation of intellect, ignoring the cultivation of the heart and hands has resulted in a skewed society and global world problems. Obtaining degrees, training for a livelihood and moving up the ladder of social mobility has become the sole aim of education. A new kind of education revolution is being seeded at NEEV to create individuals who are concerned with a life of truth, love and freedom.
Education today has become a means of just training for a livelihood. It is based on mere rote learning and cultivation of the intellect. The one sided cultivation of intellect has caused serious imbalances in society. Global poverty, environmental degradation, escalation of violence and massive inequity are the result of a society that is stunted with materialistic values.Education is no longer concerned with higher values of truth, freedom and love. It no longer provides the light of wisdom.
NEEV School was started to create a revolution in the education system as we found that only through such a revolution can we avert a global crisis raging at social, political, environmental and religious levels. Through the school we are educating children to be integrated human beings who are not interested in confirming to society. Rather NEEV School teaches children - values, self inquiry, self-reliance, environmental conservation, self governance and welfare of the world as the central aims
The world today, witnesses conflict at all levels - from the individual, social, national to global levels. The root of this conflict is fragmentation that exists in the very consciousness of individuals. Mere intellectual education cannot heal this divisive consciousness in humans. NEEV is creating a totally different kind of education that helps children deeply discover the roots of fragmentation in one's consciousness. Such children, freed from fragmentation shall create a new world order.
