National Consultation with State Experts on Scaling Up Rates of Breastfeeding and Infant and Young Child Feeding Practices

The National Consultation with State Experts on Scaling Up Rates of Breastfeeding and Infant and Young Child Feeding was conceptualized with a background of accelerating the implementation of the MAA-Mothers Absolute programme , a nationwide programme launched to protect, promote and support breastfeeding in August 2016 by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The consultation witnessed participation from 11 State Experts working passionately to promote breastfeeding in their respective states. Breastfeeding Promotion Network of India (BPNI) organized the consultation to assist Ministry of Health and Family Welfare state departments in implementing the MAA programme at the state, block and district level. State of Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Orrisa, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir, Andhra Pradesh and Rajasthan.
Objectives of the National Consultation:
Prioritization of Action at State Level:
Brainstorming to build consensus on priority action areas at the state level was one of the key agenda item of the consultation. The house build consensus on the following action areas.
