Dear Friends,
Greetings rom Breastfeeding Promotion Network of India (BPNI)!
This quarter we bring to you field level report from Bihar, India . As part of this project BPNI has done several advocacy meetings in the past in states. BPNI's advocacy could convince the state governments to build their capcity by training their human resource as national trainers on Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF)skilled counseling.Training is one of BPNI's forte over the years, till date BPNI's has trained thousand's of health care professionals and workers in India.
In this report we would like to share insights from our training of trainers in Bihar,India. This middle level training was conducted at NMCH Medical College, Patna.
This was the first Middle Level Trainers Training courses in Patna held under Mother Absolute Affection Programme (MAA) by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare with National Health Mission Bihar and UNICEF Patna. BPNI is the technical partner to this monumental national breatfeeding promotion programme. The first batch comprised of 25 participants from 13 districts of the state.
Post the training the middle level trainers will help their respective states to conduct further district level capacity building training on IYCF counseling. These trainers will reach out to field level workers helping in creating many more breastfeeding counselors.
The training was held between 16th to 22nd January 2017. We wish to conduct many more training of trainers in more states with the state governments and other development partners for a holistic coverage.
Thank you.
Best Regards,
BPNI Team
