Dear Donors,
Greetings from BPNI!
In July 2014 our Honorable Prime Minister of India in his 17 point agenda recognized the need to prevent conflict of interest in public policies and urged for a legal framework. To curb corruption in the country prevention and management of Conflict of Interest in public policy and programmes can become a game changer, therefore, it's important to start a dialogue about this crucial issue in the public domain in public interest.
With this background on behalf of Breastfeeding Promotion Network of India and Swadeshi Jagran Manch organized the "Roundtable Conference on Conflict of Interest in Public Policy" on 11th September 2018, India International Centre, Max Mueller Road, Lodhi Estate, New Delhi.
The key objectives of the roundtable discussion were to understand the definition and concept of conflicts of interest, share examples of conflict of interest in public policy and to share tools for prevention and management of Conflict of Interest.
The keynote address was made by Sh.Rajiv Kumar, Vice Chairman, Niti Aayog and remarks were given by Mr.Ranith Roy, Member, Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister (PMEAC). The brainstorming session was chaired by Sh.K.C.Tyagi, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha)
