2 children in care at Joseph House, a children's home we support in Ethiopia, died last week. Mekdelawit and Sisay did not have mothers or fathers but found a family at Joseph House. The cost of medical and burial for both children comes to $950 and any additional amount raised will go towards scholarships for the older children who are preparing to go to trade school or get further education.
2 children living at Joseph House children's home died from long-standing medical conditions last week. The home does not have funds available to pay for their embalming and burial that totals $950.
This project is to raise funds to cover Mekdelwit and Sisay's funeral expenses. Any additional money raised will go towards scholarships for the older children in the home who are getting ready to go to trade school or get further education.
Lift the burden of this financial concern from the staff and children of Joseph House who are now grieving the loss of part of their family. In all these years none of the 4 children's homes we support have had to navigate the death of a child and it is certainly a heavy loss.
