Dear Esteemed Friends and Partners,
I take this opportunity to express my joy and happiness for keeping children in school since the year started January 2024. As we come to the end of the year you have not wavered from keeping our school programmes running. Without your support we can’t be able to keep children in school. Your generous donations make so much difference in less advantaged families in slums of Nairobi. Many children get access to education for first time in their lives in our school.
You are illuminating lives and cut vicious circle of poverty by keeping a child in school every day.
Every year we enroll additional children to our school. Compassion Community based organization (Compassion CBO) is a local charitable organization that run Greener Life school in the heart of Githogoro slum in Nairobi. The slum is one of the slum where poor of the poorest people live in sprawling’s slums of Nairobi. Many of the dwellers children can’t afford to educate their children in government schools or private schools both prove very expensive to afford. That where we come in, take those children and give them free education in our school. Children are given breakfast& lunch on daily basis, stationaries and tuition at no cost. Currently over the last 3 years we are doing experimental fruit farming in a semi-arid area as a sustainability project. We have planted oranges. If the experimental fruit farming succeed we will expand the project to generate income to run the school and enroll more needy children in school. Hundreds of children are in our list but we can enroll only few children due to limited resources and space. Our Strategic plan is to expand the school to accommodate more children the next 5 years from 2025 to 2030. If you want to be part of that Strategic plan and donate specifically to buy land or advice on best way forward email us at compasioncbo@gmail.com.
This year we had a very successful graduation for kindergartens joining grade one in year 2025.
This is our last report for our Project “Help Build Free School in Nairobi Slums” year 2024.
