Daycare center "Dobro Sartse" ("Good Heart") is the first social service for children with disabilities in the Pernik region in Southwest Bulgaria and recently celebrated its 25th anniversary. 40 children between the ages of 3 and 18 are cared for and educated at the center. Recently, the number of children on the autism spectrum, as well as those with mobility problems and in wheelchairs, has been increasing.
Did you know that most children with special needs in Bulgaria lack adequate funding and care? Bulgaria is the poorest country in the European Union. Many kids with autism, mobility problems and other special needs are in need of help with vital resources, education, and care.
By making a donation, you will help the children at the Daycare center "Dobro Sartse" ("A Good Heart") - the first social service for children with disabilities in the Pernik region (Southwest Bulgaria). We are completing an outdoor classroom - a dream for the kids and staff at the center! We are also buying specialized strollers for children with mobility problems and specialized didactic materials and technical aids for movement therapy, Montessori therapy and sports games.
The children at the center will have an amazing new outdoor space with a shed and specialized equipment. Their development and quality of life will be enhanced with educational games and activities, entertainment, holidays, sports games and competitions! The new mobility equipment will allow the children with mobility problems to move more effortlessly around the center. The specialized therapy materials and tools will aid the children with their development, learning and independence.
