This Project Ends. Support for Children Does Not

By Iana Dashkovska | Project Leader

Dear Friends,

As we share the final report for this project, we want to thank you for supporting children in Ukraine whose lives depend on timely, high-quality care at Okhmatdyt, the country’s largest children’s hospital.

We are happy to share some good news: in May 2026, Okhmatdyt’s innovative treatment and diagnostic building in Kyiv was fully restored after the Russian missile attack.

Throughout this project, your support helped us respond to the needs of children who had to be transferred to other hospitals immediately after the attack. As Okhmatdyt resumed and expanded its work, your donations continued to provide essential medical supplies for children receiving treatment in its intensive care unit.

Beyond the hospital, your support also gave children and their caregivers a safe place to stay, rest and recover between treatments at our Dacha Family House. One of them is Danylo, the cheerful boy you see in the photo. He is now staying at Dacha in Kyiv while undergoing treatment at Okhmatdyt.

Although this particular campaign is coming to an end, our support for Danylo and children like him continues. Okhmatdyt cares for children every day, and we continue standing beside them, their families, and the doctors treating them.

If you would like to continue helping, you can support our active GlobalGiving projects Life-Saving Treatment for Kids in Ukraine and Free Accommodation for Kids with Cancer in Ukraine, which provide children with access to the treatment they need and keep our Dacha Family Houses open for families who need to stay near the hospital.

Thank you for every contribution, every message of support and every time you chose to be there for a child and their family facing one of the hardest moments of their lives in wartime Ukraine.
