Support a therapeutic summer camp for children and young people growing up in foster care in Poland. Your donation will help provide a safe, caring space where they can rest, build trust, learn to talk about emotions, strengthen social skills and experience what many of them rarely have: attentive adults, healthy relationships and a sense of belonging.
Young people in foster care need more than material support. They need stable relationships, safe spaces and adults who know how to respond to emotions, conflict and unspoken needs. In institutional care, one adult may be responsible for many children at once, which makes individual attention difficult. A therapeutic camp creates a different environment: smaller groups, professional support, predictable routines and time to build trust. For many participants, this may be their first real summer
FDI will organize a structured summer therapeutic camp for children and youth from foster care institutions. The program will include: - group and individual therapeutic support; - art therapy and emotional-awareness workshops; - sports and outdoor activities that build teamwork; - safe recreational experiences such as kayaking, nature trips and team games; - daily routines that provide predictability and emotional security;
This project helps young people build the emotional and social foundations they need for adult life. The camp supports self-confidence, resilience, communication skills and the ability to form safe relationships. It also helps FDI better understand each participant's needs and continue individual support after the camp through therapy scholarships, tutoring, mentoring, workshops and other year-round programs.
