Great period we just finished. Many children signed in for the 2013 project and they are making incredible progress. We decided to split the groups based on gender, in order to tackle some issues in a more convenient environment.
With the girls specifically, we are aiming to give them the space and a safe environment in where they can talk of their private issues comfortable. Thanks to the Elearning program many topics showed up and talked in the workshops: gender violence, discrimination, sexual behaviour, health, role models, etc. All these topics were triggered by gaming experiences, watching videos in the social media and interacting with technology. It was amazing to see how the girls could express their issues and develop and sense of community and group support around them.
Boys in the other hand, were focus in working other topics like civic participation (using Simcity as a tool), realizing about the impact of own actions in others.
Meanwhile, we added 8 laptops to our equipment, and Microsoft and Techsoup donated to us all the licenses for the latest software available in the market. Also, the renewal of our space made great progress and we keep on moving to have the perfect place where children can be properly stimulated and unleash their creativity.
Thanks to your generous donation we keep in the road of excellence and development, and we will keep on growing with your help and others. Please help us to spread our story, it's a great way to support us. Also join our Facebook fanpage in where we share day to day information please.
Thanks a lot again, till next report!
