After holiday season in Argentina (December and January) and well deserved resting period, children and staff are ready to kick off 2013 official activities. But before telling you the renewed plans, a quick update on what happened in the last months.
The children finished their radio project, in which they created podcasts and shared it with their peers. The experience was very interesting to understand the process of making a radio show: thinking about the content, looking for information, become an expert on the issue, making good questions about the theme and finally communicating it. The children became a true team thinking of their skills, who was better for doing what, etc. The result was great, with deep programs in where they talked about their reality, crime, drugs, etc.
Late November we had our yearly presentation in Rosario, Argentina, in where we put together some speakers of our staff, show of the children and volunteers in order to connect with the local public and inspire them to join in our cause. It was a great way to finish the year, nearly 340 people came that day and joined as volunteers or social investors (becoming recurring donors).
2013 is full of new projects: we are renewing our space, adding more equipment to our Elearning program, more children and new objectives too. One decision our team took was to split the teenagers group by gender, that way we will be able to address specific issues for girls or boys in a more comfortable environment.
Thanks to your support we are able to keep on growing every year and children are developing in a healthy environment; avoiding truancy, criminality, early pregnancy and becoming owners of their own destiny. Let's keep on writing together then!
