Next step : owning the house for the kids

Gracias !

We have been offering since the opening  of the house,  permanent  shelter to the kids, and our goal is to own it, in the same way that we have been able to acquire our van. This van, on a daily basis, has been of a tremendous help by allowing us to bring the kids to their treatment appointments and avoid any risk by taking public transportation or walking.

The house where our kids are currently living is unfortunately not ours. We have to pay a monthly rent of US$1066 (COP $3’200’000). This house is 718 m2 and fosters 13 children, each with one guardian (usually a parent). Besides the bedrooms, it has  a play room, an interior patio, 2  living rooms, an administrative office, a psychology office, a kitchen, an infirmary, dining room and 8 bedrooms.

The commercial price to acquire it is set at US$210’000 (COP$630 million). The project of buying the house has been launched on February 14, 2016 by our Governor  Eduardo Verano.

So far, we have been able to collect  $20.000 dollars

However, this amount still does not cover the down payment to buy the house. This one represents 30% of the value, or US$ 63’000.

As we finished the 2015 year with our own new van, we would love to finish 2017 with our own house.

Thank you !
