Introduction
The Help Children at Crosswalks project was created to protect Ugandan school children from the dangers of road traffic. The project uses trained volunteers, safety gear, and school partnerships to ensure safe road crossings while empowering children to become road safety ambassadors.
Current Situation
Uganda faces a high rate of road accidents. Children are among the most vulnerable, especially when crossing busy roads to and from school. Pedestrians account for almost 40% of casualties, making this project both timely and lifesaving.
